Very Good Jamaica Fan Cheers In Usain Bolt
Screencap via @ [object Object] Usain Bolt went and won his third consecutive gold medal in the 200m this evening, a few days after he won his third straight gold medal in the 100m. Bolt is an all-timer, and the only sprinter ever to defend both sprint golds twice. He’s also the most famous living Jamaican, with a massive, enthusiastic fanbase. What follows is a story about two of those fans.
Twitter user @ KendraHansey’s mom was palpably nervous, and rung Bolt in with a pair of pot lids. She is my favorite fan of these Rio Olympics.
On the other hand, Bolt’s mother Jennifer, she’s seen this before.
Either way, Jamaican fans, even Jennifer Bolt, have to be happy, as they became the first country to sweep the men’s and women’s 100m and 200m in the same Olympics.
