San Antonio elected to rest Wembanyama and his right ankle, the same move the Spurs made Wednesday when they sat him during their 127-89 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Spurs are 2-8 without Wembanyama this season.
The move comes one day after San Antonio upset the Denver Nuggets 121-120 with Wembanyama in the lineup. In that game, he finished with 34 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
The No. 1 overall selection in the 2023 NBA Draft, Wembanyama has averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals and a league-leading 3.6 blocks in 71 games.
