Vinny Cerrato Backs Out Of Charity Dunk Tank Event
Vinny Cerrato, the former corporate-sounding-title-holder for the Redskins and Dan Snyder minion, was supposed to take part in a minor league baseball promotion for the Bowie Baysox that involved himself, aggrieved D.C. area fans and a dunk tank. Unfortunately, one of those three won't be showing up. Cerrato will not be participating in the dunk tank—the proceeds from which would have gone to charity—and will instead be on the radio longer than usual.
This week, the Baysox have announced that Cerrato has backed out of Sunday's tank duties. While there will still be a silent auction to benefit the foundation, the dunk tank is no more.
As for Cerrato, he agreed to increase his already-planned live 105.7 broadcast from the stadium from two hours to three.
"It was decided that a three-hour live broadcast, with Vinny interacting with the listeners and audience, was better," 105.7 program manager Dave Lebrozzi told me via e-mail.
Nothing better than interacting with one's audience via radio. Well, there's one thing I suppose. But you'd need a dunk tank, some water and a willing participant. Too bad Skins fans!
