Vlad Guerrero Jr. Is Healthy And Back To Mashing Taters In The Minors
Good news for anyone deeply troubled by the mid-season injury of Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr: He’s back, he got called up to Triple-A at the end of July, and he’s still belting the ball in that same heroic way we’ve enjoyed all year.
Tonight was the third straight multi-hit game for Little Vlad, and his second straight game with a dinger. One homer was high and deep to center, and the other was a sudden bullet just barely fair, but both got sent out with equally beautiful swings.
On top of banishing baseballs from the field of play, Vlad Jr. also looks mighty comfortable at third base, where he’s shown off his athleticism and throwing ability in his first week of games with the Buffalo Bisons. Just a glimpse at these highlights should destroy any nerve-wracking doubts about the health of his left knee, and leave in their place the proper admiration that this 19-year-old stud deserves.
Just call him the hell up, already.
