Wade Wilson's Totally Non-Flaccid Excuse
So here's something our Rick Ankiel could use as a defense, when he inevitably addresses the HGH story later today: He was trying to get a boner.
That's Cowboys assistant coach Wade Wilson's story, and he's sticking to it.
SportsDay's Gary Jacobson reports that Wade Wilson took substances banned by the NFL in an attempt to treat impotence. Wilson said he was trying to improve his "quality of life" after the NFL announced that he was suspended five games and fined $100,000. "That was my way of trying to cover that subject without coming right out and saying that," Wilson said Thursday when asked if he suffered from impotence, a common complication of diabetes. "There's a quality of life that I don't really want to say a great deal about."
Heh. "Quality of life." Why Rafael Palmeiro didn't use this excuse, we will never understand.
