College basketball takes the spotlight in the world of sports on Wednesday, December 18th, and these are our top betting picks.

With the NBA Cup Championship in the rearview mirror, professional basketball resumes on Thursday. Regular season hockey rolls on, but we’re focusing on college hoops for today’s best bets. Let’s make some money right before the holiday season really intensifies. 

Xavier vs. UConn, 7:00 p.m. ET

With both teams boasting an 8-3 record, the Musketeers of Xavier will march into Harry A. Gampel Pavilion to battle the No. 11 ranked Huskies. 

Big East conference play is officially underway. That’s not so fun or great for Xavier, who will be without their leading scorer and rebounder, Zach Freemantle, who suffered a lower body injury against the Cincinnati Bearcats and is out indefinitely.

Guard Trey Green is also out. They lost big man Lassina Traore to a torn ACL before the season even started. Despite a hot 6-0 start, reality is beginning to set in for the undermanned Musketeers, who have lost three of their last five games. 

All three of their losses come against high-major programs. It’s hard to love their chances tonight against Dan Hurley's Huskies, who look to be on the rise.

Youngstown State vs. Wright State, 7:00 p.m. ET

Did somebody mention conference play? Don’t forget about the Horizon League.

Youngstown State (6-5) will enter the Nutter Center having won four straight games, including Horizon League wins against Robert Morris and Oakland. 

Meanwhile, Wright State is riding a two-game win streak of their own, with their last loss coming on December 5th against Oakland.

Youngstown State is just 2-3 on the road while Wright State is undefeated. We’re rolling the dice with the favorite again in this matchup.

Michigan vs. Oklahoma, 9:00 p.m. ET

The Sooners (10-0) will look to protect their perfect record in the Jumpman Invitational.

They’re currently the No. 14 ranked team in the nation and have a serious chance of making the tournament for the first time under Porter Moser’s leadership.

Meanwhile, the No. 24 ranked Michigan Wolverines (8-2) are -3.5 favorites in this matchup.

That’s because Oklahoma has had a relatively weak schedule. 

The Wolverines are going to be looking to avenge their narrow loss to Arkansas last Tuesday. They’re certainly rested, but hopefully rust does not play a factor in this game.
