Well, That's Probably It For Eric Bledsoe In Phoenix
Photo credit: Rick Scuteri/ [object Object] Yesterday, Suns guard Eric Bledsoe sent one of the best athlete tweets in history:
And why would he feel any other way? The Suns have already proven to be hilariously bad just three games into the season, and after firing head coach Earl Watson yesterday seem destined for another 79 games of losing and dysfunction.
Bledsoe is good but has yet to find a situation in which he can maximize his talents, and at age 27 he is running out of time to do so. A tweet may not have been the nicest way to begin his exit process, but it seems to have done the trick. ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported that Bledsoe was sent home from the team today, and Adrian Wojnarowski followed up:
The good news for Bledsoe and the Suns is that a few teams are in the market for an upgrade at point guard. The Cavaliers would probably love to have Bledsoe, ditto for the Clippers and maybe even the Nuggets. And the Suns, clearly on a mission to tank the season, have no incentive to hold Bledsoe for too high of a ransom. Let’s hope all these forces conspire to get a good and fun player onto a good and fun team. At least one party involved seems to be feeling optimistic:
