What The Hell Is Jose Bautista On About?
[object Object] The Toronto Blue Jays are down 2-0 in the ALCS after scoring just one run on 10 hits through 18 innings. If you were to ask any baseball fan with two eyes why that is, they’d tell you it’s because the Jays have been dominated by the Indians’ pitchers, particularly Andrew Miller and the rest of the bullpen. Jays outfielder Jose Bautista has a different explanation, though.
Come on, man. It’s one thing for a hitter to be upset about the home plate umpires blowing calls, but to gripe about them publicly in a way that implies a few missed balls and strikes have swung the course of the series is to be reveal oneself as a big sore loser. Bautista’s not even on the right conspiracy track, for what it’s worth:
If Bautista wants to turn this series around, hitting some dingers and flipping some damn bats is going to do a lot more than whining about the umpiring.
