What's Sadder Than Not Making The 2012 Olympic Team?

Confetti. Lots of it.

What's worse is the confetti seemed to fall only on Nastia Liukin after they announced the 2012 Olympic gymnastics team, which Liukin was ousted from after a devastating face-plant during the qualifier.

But the former world champion and Olympic gold medalist still managed a smile as they presented the 2012 team, instead taking her frustration out on the confetti raining down from the sky, like "soil falling over [her] head," as she realized it was the end.
