When The Machines Finally Take Over, It Will Be Because Of The Assholes Who Designed A Robot That Cheats At Rock-Paper-Scissors
Thanks to the incredibly short-sighted scientists at Japan's Ishikawa Oku Laboratory we now have this robot that will never, ever lose at rock-paper-scissors. And it's not even a cool robot that processes a million variables per second and beats you straight up. No, it's just got a super fast camera and a little help from it's dimwitted opponents.
By watching the image from a camera that can determine the position of your hand every millisecond, it is aware of your move the very moment you make it. And as soon as your hand starts to form that rock, the robot is giving you some paper to wrap it up.
Nice going, Einsteins. While you may think you've won a victory for human and robotic integration, you've just planted the seed for the undoing of human supremacy as we know it. We already know computers and robots are superior intellects to humans, did we really have to give them the ability to cheat? Smarts and unchecked self-interest? it was nice knowing you all.
Here's some video evidence of the beginning of the end.
