Wil Myers Steals 2nd, 3rd, And Home in Same Inning
Photo: Gregory Bull/AP Wil Myers knocked home a run with a single in the fourth inning. He’d get another run just by running around the bases.
The Padres’ first baseman stole second, third, and home to score a run against the Phillies today. He stole second with Austin Hedges batting, ran to third when Hedges walked, and stole home as Hedges got into a rundown between first and second.
It was the first steal of three bases in one inning since Dee Gordon did it on July 1, 2011. Per Baseball-Almanac, it was the 51st time someone stole for the cycle; 41 different players have done it.
