WNBA Picks Today: Best Bets for Tuesday, August 18
The Tuesday WNBA card showcases four matchups, highlighted by a pair of teams looking to bounce back from home losses.
The Dream head west to face the Aces as Atlanta tries to move past a home overtime setback to Indiana. Las Vegas stubbed its toe against league-leading Minnesota on Saturday to snap a two-game winning streak.
Elsewhere, Caitlin Clark and the Fever seek their fifth consecutive victory with a trip north of the border to battle the struggling Tempo.
We’ll break down two plays for the Tuesday action. Remember to monitor the odds throughout the day, as the props, sides, and totals market are constantly changing.

Best WNBA plays today
- Sky (+4.5) vs. Liberty
- Dream (+4.5) at Aces
Sky (+4.5) vs. Liberty - 9:00 p.m. ET
Chicago (13-22) sits outside the playoff picture as the Sky returns home from a 1-2 road trip. The Sky look to break through against New York (23-14), as Chicago has lost a pair of one-point decisions this season.
The Liberty erased a six-point deficit in the final minute in their previous matchup on July 22 at Barclays Center to stun the Sky, 95-94. New York G Sabrina Ionescu scored 29 points in that win, but is listed as questionable on Tuesday with a foot injury.
Chicago looks to build off an 82-80 victory at Seattle on Sunday, as the Sky own a 6-3 against the spread record in their last nine as an underdog. Meanwhile, the Liberty have stumbled to a 2-11 against the spread mark in their past 11 games overall, including nine non-covers as a favorite.
Dream (+4.5) at Aces - 9:00 p.m. ET
Another team playing with double-revenge on Tuesday is Atlanta (21-13), who has lost twice at home to Las Vegas (24-13). The Aces held off the Dream, 85-84 on May 17, while routing Atlanta, 109-87 earlier this month.
The Dream squandered a 10-point lead in Sunday’s 95-91 home defeat to East-leading Indiana. Atlanta faces four straight teams outside of playoff contention after Tuesday’s game at Las Vegas, as nine of the last 10 wins for the Dream are against below .500 clubs.
Since shooting 62% from the floor in the rout at Atlanta, the Aces have been held to 46% shooting or worse in six consecutive games.
The key for Atlanta is a better performance from downtown after converting 9-of-47 attempts in the first two losses to Las Vegas. Tonight marks the first time in 26 games that the Dream are listed in the underdog role. Atlanta is worth a strong look to rebound off Sunday’s difficult overtime loss to Indiana.
