WNBA rescinds second technical on Angel Reese

The WNBA on Wednesday rescinded the second technical foul assessed to Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese on Tuesday night.
Angel Reese was ejected after receiving two technical fouls with 2:31 remaining in the game, an 88-75 loss to the New York Liberty. Head official Maj Forsberg told a pool reporter postgame that Reese's technical fouls were for "disrespectfully addressing" official Charles Watson and then for "waving her hand in dismissal."
Reese will now be fined $200 for the one technical instead of $400 for two. A seventh tech brings an $800 fine and one-game suspension.
Reese finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds but shot 3 of 12 from the floor in the loss.
"She got two techs, she said something to the ref," Sky guard Marina Mabrey told reporters. "Whatever he felt like was the correct call is what he made. It's more about composure for us in our young years in the WNBA. You've got to get to know refs and how they respond to things."
Reese was fined $1,000 by the league on Sunday for not making herself available for interviews following Saturday's loss to the Indiana Fever. The Fever defeated the Sky 71-70 in Indianapolis in a game that saw Fever rookie Caitlin Clark pushed to the floor by Chicago's Chennedy Carter as Clark awaited an inbounds pass.
The league on Monday upgraded Carter's foul to a Flagrant 1.
