Women Of The German National Soccer Team Endeavor To Show They Are Not "Butch" By Posing For Playboy
This may or may not be a good thing for women's sports:
"I think we are well on our way to getting rid of that image," midfielder Julia Simic told Playboy. "More and more sweet, pretty girls are playing football who also go shopping and place value on their appearance."
Well, I suppose that's nice and all, but the reunified Germany inherited a rich tradition of success in international women's sports from its eastern half. Some of those ladies were doped to the gills, and developed male features, but I'll be damned if they weren't the best at what they did. Tread lightly, pigtailed ones.
