X-rays negative for Tigers C Jake Rogers (wrist)
Detroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers (34) looks back at the dugout during the second inning against Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park in Detroit on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024. Detroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers said X-rays on his left wrist were negative after getting hit with multiple foul balls just above his glove in Thursday's Game 4 loss to the Cleveland Guardians.
Rogers, 29, told reporters Friday that his hand is still sore but he expects to play in Saturday's deciding game of the American League Division Series.
"It feels better than I thought it would," Rogers said. "So, I'm good to go."
Rogers is 2-for-10 with one double, two runs, three walks and five strikeouts through four games against Cleveland.
He batted .197 during the regular season with 10 homers and 36 RBIs in 102 games.
