Mandatory Credit: Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton exited Saturday's game against the visiting Atlanta Braves due to left hamstring tightness and will undergo imaging on Sunday.
Stanton extended his hitting streak to 10 games when he led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a double. He scored on a double by Gleyber Torres to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead, but he slowed up and grimaced after rounding third base on the play.
Stanton was replaced by Trent Grisham when his turn in the order came up in the sixth.
Stanton is in the midst of a bounce-back season after a hamstring injury cost him nearly two months last year. After hitting a career-worst .191 in 2023, Stanton is batting .246 with 18 homers and 45 RBIs across 69 games this season.
Often injured since joining the Yankees in 2018, Stanton played in only 18 games in 2019 before playing in 23 during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign.
