Yankees place LHP Ryan Yarbrough (oblique) on 15-day IL

New York Yankees left-hander Ryan Yarbrough was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a strained right oblique.

The move is retroactive to Friday.

Yarbrough, 33, is 3-1 with a 3.90 ERA in 16 appearances (eight starts) this season.


He began his career with the Tampa Bay Rays (2018-22) and also has pitched for the Kansas City Royals (2023), Los Angeles Dodgers (2023-24) and Toronto Blue Jays (2024). In 212 games (76 starts), Yarbrough is 56-41 with a 4.19 ERA.

Also on Sunday, left-hander Jayvien Sandridge was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Sandridge, 26, is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 10 relief appearances with three different minor-league teams this season.

He has yet to make his MLB debut.
