Mandatory Credit: Daniel Kucin Jr.-Imagn Images Paul Goldschmidt and Trent Grisham homered as the New York Yankees built an early lead to halt a four-game losing streak by beating the host Baltimore Orioles 6-2 on Tuesday night.
Grisham's three-run blast came with two outs during the Yankees' five-run third inning. Aaron Judge joined Goldschmidt with two hits.
Starting pitcher Will Warren took a shutout into the sixth inning and Baltimore was unable to pull off a comeback as it did a night earlier.
The Orioles had a two-game winning streak snapped despite two hits from Samuel Basallo and Taylor Ward. They've won only four of their last 13 games.
Warren (5-1) went 5 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six. He beat the Orioles for the second time this month.
Fernando Cruz, Jake Bird, Tim Hill and David Bednar combined for 3 1/3 frames of scoreless relief for the Yankees in what became a combined six-hitter.
Orioles starter Trevor Rogers was dinged for six runs in four innings in his first outing since coming off the injured list. He allowed six hits and issued three walks with three strikeouts.
Goldschmidt's fourth homer of the season was a solo shot in the first inning.
Cody Bellinger's fielder's choice grounder and Amed Rosario's run-scoring single came in the third inning before Grisham's sixth long ball of the year.
The Orioles broke through for two runs with two outs in the sixth on Basallo's single and Tyler O'Neill's double. They threatened in the eighth by putting two runners on base with one out but didn't convert.
It wasn't all smooth for New York, which was charged with two errors and a wild pitch.
The Yankees have won five of six meetings with the Orioles going into Wednesday's series finale, which has been switched from a night game to an afternoon first pitch because of weather-related concerns.
