Your College Football Early Games Open Thread
With only 16 Division 1-A games on the slate, only two open threads are needed today. This one's for contests like BCS-deciding Oregon at Oregon State, SEC title game between Auburn vs. South Carolina and Rutgers at West Virginia.
There will be another one tonight.
More importantly, the dearth of games enables the Legitimate Working In Of A Blue Hens Playoff Game link.
The playoff appearance is Delaware's 20th in the 38 years since the NCAA instituted championship play for its lower divisions but just the second in six years. In 2007, Delaware reached the NCAA final and lost to Appalachian State.
"It's just a very exciting time to be a football player," said Delaware quarterback Pat Devlin, recently named Colonial Athletic Association offensive player of the year. "I wanted to come here to play for championships and we put ourselves in a position for that by the regular season we had."
May God have mercy on Lehigh's soul.
