Zidane’s Son Enzo Could Reject France For Spain
French legend Zinedine Zidane has told press his son Enzo—full name Enzo Alan Zidane Fernandez—may opt for Spain when the time comes to choose his international career path.
Zidane has four sons, three of whom play in Real Madrid's youth team ranks. Enzo Zidane, who qualifies to turn out for the World Cup winners after living in Spain for more than eight years, has been singled out as a future star and was rumoured to be on the verge of a call up to Spain's U15s last year.
Yesterday Zinedine told Spanish paper AS his son wasn't necessarily going to follow in his father's footsteps:
When he's called up, that's the time that I will decide. If Spain call him up, it will be good, and if it's France, it will be good too. For the moment, he is enjoying football with Madrid and that's what's important.
Hmm… years of in-fighting and underachieving at international tournaments or a future spent defending World Cups and European championships?
Will the FFF even bother pleading a case?
