Williams suffered a season-ending torn ACL last Sunday in a 34-24 win over the host New York Giants.
In other moves on Saturday, the 49ers activated guard Ben Bartch from the IR and elevated defensive end Clelin Ferrell and defensive tackle Sebastian Valdez from the practice squad for Sunday's home game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Williams, 21, was the 11th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Georgia. In nine games (all starts), he recorded 20 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, three quarterback hits and one sack. He also recovered one fumble.
Bartch, 27, has appeared in 51 games in his NFL career, including 24 starts. This season, he made two starts in two games for San Francisco before going down with a high ankle sprain and going on IR.
In the small sample size, he had a 77.3 overall PFF grade this season.
