Philadelphia star Tyrese Maxey will be out at least three weeks, at which point his finger tendon injury will be reevaluated, the 76ers announced on Tuesday.

The two-time All-Star guard injured the pinkie finger on his right hand in a collision with teammate Adem Bona late in a 126-116 loss to the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday night.

Maxey has since consulted with multiple hand specialists, with the three-week rest recommendation coming out of those meetings.

Since being selected 21st overall by the Sixers in the 2020 NBA Draft, Maxey has averaged 21 points and 4.8 assists per game over six seasons, including a career-high 29 ppg this season. He also currently boasts career highs in assists (6.7), rebounds (4.1) and steals (2).

Philadelphia, 34-30 and eighth in the Eastern Conference entering Tuesday, is 1-2 without its star guard, including a 115-101 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.

Eleven-year vet Cameron Payne got his first start of the season in that contest, scoring 12 points on 33.3% shooting to go along with six rebounds and four assists.
