About 40 Fed-Up Knicks Fans Showed Up For Tonight's Protest
Angry Knicks fans held a protest outside Madison Square Garden before tonight's game against the Pacers. The crowd was small, but furious.
The Knicks didn't comment upon the announcement of the protest earlier this month, but the team coincidentally organized a happy hour event for season-ticket holders on the same day. Approximately 40 pissed off fans still showed up, and one of the protestors emailed us. In another coincidence, the demonstration had some noisy competition with a drumline.
His account:
I showed up around 6:15 and the drummers looked like they had been playing a while because there was a big crowd around them. You could barely get around them. They were still playing when I left at 7. You can kinda see in the top right of the "inside" pic I attached [first photo below] that there was a big crowd around the drums, but not too many people there to observe the protest [see top photo]. The drums were loud as hell and drowned out the protest chants. Knicks drumline played the opposite end of the 7th Ave. marquee, drowning out most of the angry chants.
The drummers have been in front of MSG before, but it's worth noting.
Seth Rosenthal of SB Nation stopped by the scene and got some of the chants on video:
The Knicks beat the Pacers tonight, 92-86.
