Mandatory Credit: Dale Zanine-Imagn Images Trae Young has managed to earn an ejection before ever even stepping on the court for his new squad.
Young, set to make his debut for the Wizards on Thursday night against the Utah Jazz, was ejected on Tuesday night for leaving the bench area in Washington's 123-118 loss to the Houston Rockets.
The four-time All-Star, acquired from the Atlanta Hawks in early January, stepped onto the court Tuesday to protest a non-call against Tari Eason in the third quarter and was issued a technical foul and ejection.
Eason was also ejected.
Young has been nursing MCL and quad injuries since before the trade. He last played Dec. 27, scoring nine points and dishing 10 assists in a 128-125 loss to the New York Knicks.
A career 25.2 points per game scorer (while tossing 9.8 assists), Young announced on social media earlier in the day that he was targeting Thursday for his return.
