Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-Imagn Images England's Emma Raducanu is shutting it down for the season after battling an illness this month.
The 22-year-old former U.S. Open champion withdrew from the upcoming WTA tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Raducanu retired from a match at last week's Wuhan Open and required medical attention again during a first-round loss at this week's Ningbo Open.
Ranked No. 29 in the world, Raducanu finishes the 2025 season with a 28-21 singles record with no titles. She reached the semifinals in Washington, D.C., in July and the quarterfinals in Miami in March.
Raducanu also confirmed that she will continue working with coach Francisco Roig, who replaced Mark Petchey ahead of the U.S. Open.
Raducanu's only singles title to date is her breakthrough victory at the 2021 U.S. Open.
