Anthony Hernandez tops Michel Pereira by TKO at UFC Fight Night

Middleweight Anthony Hernandez took away Michel Pereira's potent striking attack to pick up his sixth straight victory with a fifth-round TKO in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Hernandez pushed the pace in the one-sided bout, tiring out Pereira by the midway point of the third round. Pereira failed to counter Hernandez's dominant wrestling base. Despite securing only one takedown in the opening round, it was all he needed to get going.
Hernandez (13-2-0) said he doesn't care who he fights next, but wants a future title shot.
"I don't even follow the roster," Hernandez said.
Hernandez kept Pereira (31-12-0) at bay the entire fight, landing 152 significant strikes to the Brazilian's 24.
It was Hernandez's first UFC main event since joining the roster in 2019, improving to 7-2 under the promotional banner.
Pereira, who had won his previous eight matches, suffered his first loss since February 2020.
Bantamweight Rob Font (21-8-0) earned a unanimous decision against Kyler Phillips (12-3-0). It was Font's first win since April 2023.
Flyweight Charles Johnson (17-6-0), bantamweight Cameron Smotherman (12-4-0) and Featherweight Darren Elkins (29-11-0) each won his main-card bout by unanimous decision.
