Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-Imagn Images Houston Astros center fielder Taylor Trammell was carted off the field after crashing into the wall during the first inning of Wednesday's game against the host Detroit Tigers.
Trammell was chasing down a fly ball off the bat of Tigers designated hitter Dillon Dingler before hitting the wall at Comerica Park. Trammell struggled to get to his feet and attempted to walk off the field before eventually falling to a knee.
Trainers from both teams came out and a cart quickly was summoned for Trammell, who was replaced in the game by rookie Jacob Melton.
Dingler was credited with an RBI triple on the play to give Detroit an early 5-0 lead.
Trammell, 27, is batting .208 with three homers and 11 RBIs in 42 games this season.
