She announced on social media Friday that she plans to race in two super-G events in St. Moritz, Switzerland, on Dec. 21 and 22.
"I hear St. Moritz is pretty nice this time of year," she said in a video posted to Instagram.
Vonn retired in February 2019 after a career in which she won 82 World Cup races, seven world championship medals, 20 World Cup titles and three Olympic medals (one gold).
"My body is finally put back together," she said in the video. "One thing I realized is that life is really short. When you have an opportunity, you have to take it. There is nothing that I love more than ski racing."
Vonn earned a chance to compete in World Cup races last weekend at an event in Copper Mountain, Colo., where she participated in four races. Her best finish was 19th.
