At age 38, unseeded Frenchman Gael Monfils made history by becoming the second-oldest player to reach an ATP Tour Final since 1990. Croatia's Ivo Karlovic was 39 when he reached the final at Pune (India) in 2019

Bergs outlasted No. 7 seed Nuno Borges of Portugal for a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 victory in 2 hours, 16 minutes. Bergs struck six aces and converted six of 13 break chances. The players exchanged five service breaks in the last seven games of the match.
