Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-Imagn Images Taylor Fritz earned a spot in his first tour-level final since November with a 6-4, 7-6 (5) victory over Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in the BOSS Open semifinals at Stuttgart, Germany.
Fritz will face home favorite Alexander Zverev in the final after the Germany native and top seed earned a 7-6 (8), 7-6 (1) victory over Ben Shelton that prevented an all-American final.
Fritz, the No. 2 seed, won 85 percent of his second-serve points to 50 percent for Auger-Aliassime and did not face a break point.
Zverev also did not face a break point in a match that still was tightly contested. He struck 26 winners to make it into his first grass-court final since 2017.
Libema Open
Canada's Gabriel Diallo worked his way into the final at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, with a 6-3, 7-6 (4) upset victory over No. 2 seed Ugo Humbert of France.
Leaning into his powerful serve, Diallo won 83 percent of his first-serve points, while not facing a break point. He will be chasing his first ATP Tour victory in his second final after reaching one in October.
Diallo will be matched in the final with Zizou Bergs of Belgium, who earned a convincing 6-1, 6-4 victory over Reilly Opelka, while converting four of seven break points. Bergs also is chasing his first title in his second final, after reaching one at Auckland earlier this year.
