Auburn takes over top spot in AP poll

Mandatory Credit: Jeff Blake-Imagn Images Auburn climbed to No. 1 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for just the second time in program history, supplanting SEC rival Tennessee on Monday.
The Tigers (15-1) received 60 first-place votes to become the third different team in the top spot this season. Auburn was last No. 1 in early 2022.
The Volunteers (15-1) dropped to No. 6 after losing their first game of the season to Florida (15-1), which sits at No. 5. The Gators also received one first-place vote.
Iowa State (14-1) moved up a spot to No. 2, Duke (14-2) moved up a spot to No. 3 and Alabama (14-2) moved up a spot to No. 4.
Behind Tennessee, Marquette (14-2), Kentucky (13-3), Kansas (12-3) and Houston (12-3) round out the top 10.
Georgia (14-2) entered the poll for the first time in 13 years, debuting at No. 23 after wins over Kentucky and Oklahoma. Wisconsin (No. 24) and Baylor (No. 25) also entered the poll this week.
The Sooners, West Virginia and UCLA dropped out of the Top 25.
