How Can We Be Lovers If We Can't Be Friends?
We were playing around on BarryBonds.com again today — honestly, it's like Christmas every day; we don't care if he plays again or not, as long as he keeps his site updated — and, on a page devoted to Barry's 40th birthday party, we found the above picture....
Welcome to Deadspin. We Come With a Pure Heart and Mirthful Disposition
Deadspin is the latest site from Gawker Media. We cover sports here. We're not interested in gambling lines, fantasy football or injury reports; we've got Oddjack for that. And we're not some lame-ass ESPN Hollywood Tom Brady's-schtupping-Annabeth-Gish "Culture of Sports" pap either. We see sports a...

Look Up "Class" in the Dictionary, You'll See a Picture of Larry King
From the Reasons Radio Will Never Die department, it appears that Westwood One Radio is considering hiring Larry King to appear on its Monday Night Football radio broadcasts this year. This is the best news we have heard in months; we still haven't quite recovered SI.com canned his batshit nuts "S...
The Monstrosity of Leaving The Big Easy
Currently, the New Orleans Saints — we have to keep reminding ourselves that New Orleans had a football team, and that they still exist right now — are denying CNN's reports that the Superdome will have to be torn down, but whether CNN is right or not, the team still needs someplace to play right ...

Jose Canseco, Master Thespian

The Surprising Sincerity of Stephon Marbury
We feel like you're expecting us to somehow poke fun at Knicks guard Stephon Marbury's emotional breakdown when discussing Hurricane Katrina, but we really can't. The guy was legitimately devastated, and he's also avoiding one of our pet peeves: Attaching charitable donations to some sort of athle...

Alberts Crosses Almighty ESPN, Pays Price
Hell hath no fury like a college football analyst scorned, apparently. Apparently Alberts was frustra...

Raffy To Apply His Cream Back Home, Alone, Sans Earplugs
He's tried earplugs, he's tried refusing interviews, he's even tried shaving the mustache (OK, wishful thinking there), but since none of that worked, Rafael Palmeiro is taking his burgeoning erection and going home. He's officially "rehabbing his knee," in the same way that Jimmy Hoffa was "garde...
