The Colorado Avalanche acquired forward Nicolas Roy from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday in exchange for a conditional first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft and a conditional fifth-round selection in 2026.

Should the Avalanche's first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft be a top-10 selection, Colorado will send its unprotected 2028 first-round pick to Toronto.

Roy, 29, has 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 59 games this season.

A 2023 Stanley Cup champion with Vegas, Roy has totaled 186 points (73 goals, 113 assists) in 428 career games with the Carolina Hurricanes, Golden Knights and Maple Leafs.
