Be Ready To See Mike Nifong Working At Your Local Jamba Juice
So here's a guy to feel sorry for: Former Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong. He's had such a rough time of it, hasn't he? You hate to see bad things happen to that guy.
Like, say, going bankrupt.
The former North Carolina prosecutor, whose career imploded with his botched handling of the Duke University rape case, today filed for bankruptcy, listing liabilities in excess of $180 million. Almost all of that sum represents legal claims filed against the former Durham County district attorney by members of Duke's 2006 lacrosse team, including the three players who were accused of raping a stripper at a team party.
At $180 million, he's gonna have to write one of those "If I Did It" books. We hear they're big hits.
