Blake Bortles Bortled Again
Upon witnessing Blake Bortles throw an interception off his own player’s shoe last week against the Texans, you may have thought: “Well, here’s something I’ll never see again in my life.” If so, may I say: Friend, you underestimated Blake Bortles.
As you can see here, in yesterday’s game, Jaguars receiver Marqise Lee kicked a Bortles throw off of his heel and into the waiting arms of Lions safety Tavon Wilson.
Someone with a sympathetic view of this play or perhaps Blake Bortles in general would point out that quarterbacks can’t control whether their receivers go around kicking passes into the air. That is true, but if you had to try and catch passes from Blake Bortles for a living, you might begin to think that kicking the ball to yourself is not the worst idea in the world.
I look forward to reading a series of “life hacks” authored by the Jaguars receiving corps.
