Holiday last played Nov. 14, when he scored 13 points in Portland's 140-116 loss at Houston.
In addition, Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe sat out a second consecutive game Friday when Portland faced the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco.
The team also updated the status of Scoot Henderson, who has yet to play this season due to an injured left hamstring. The 21-year-old guard will be re-evaluated in two to four weeks.
Holiday was leading the Blazers with 8.3 assists per game and ranked sixth in the NBA entering play Friday. He was also averaging 16.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per outing.
