Blazers' Shaedon Sharpe out 6 months after knee surgery

Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe is recovering from surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee and will be evaluated again in about six months.

Sharpe, 23, who averaged a career-high 20.8 points per game last season, was injured during a workout last week.

He underwent the procedure Wednesday at the UCLA Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, the team announced Thursday.

Sharpe also averaged 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 2025-26, helping Portland to its first postseason appearance since 2021 despite missing 32 games with a stress fracture of his left fibula.

Entering his fifth season, Portland's 2022 first-round pick (No. 7 overall) has averaged 15.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 234 games (134 starts).

Sharpe is set to earn approximately $20 million this coming season, the first year of a four-year, $90 million extension he signed last October.

Despite the injury, the Trail Blazers are not lacking for talent at the guard position with veterans Damian Lillard, Ja Morant and Jrue Holiday manning the position along with fourth-year player Scoot Henderson.
