It might not — yet — have the online fanaticism and cachet of baseball, but the NBA and its fans are starting to catch up in the world of team-devoted blogs. To this end, Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom s Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each NBA team. There are fewer than there are for baseball, but they re out there, if you look. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours, even) for selection, just let us know at [email protected]. Today: The Indiana Pacers.

The Indianapolis Kautskys. the Indianapolis Jets. The Indianapolis Olympians. None of these pro basketball teams (the latter two in the NBA) stuck. The present-day Pacers gor their start in the ABA in 1967, switched to the NBA in 1976 (when the ABA folded), and the rest is frustrating history. The team has announced that it will retire Reggie Miller's jersey in March, by the way. So get ready for that. Also, how about starting up a Pacers blog? We don't like the trend of all the big newspapers and web sites owning all the team blogs, thus squeezing out the little guy. We could find only two independent Pacers blogs.

2. Pacer Tidbits. Still in shock over the Artest trade, no doubt. Could post more but what they do is good. 1. Pacer Nation. Just the right mix of down-home touch and big-time reporting skills.
