Blogdom's Best: Jacksonville Jaguars

It might not — yet — have the online fanaticism and cachet of baseball, but the NFL and its fans are starting to catch up in the world of team-devoted blogs. To this end, Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each NFL team. Like boarded-up beachfront businesses during hurricane season, most Jaguars blogs have been abandoned — for whatever reason — their authors fleeing inland from some great perceived threat. One site we found had no posts since June 13. Another, nothing since May 10. Sure, chasing the Colts can be frustrating, but the Jaguars are 4-2, not exactly chopped liver. Perhaps Wilma and her fellow storms really are having an effect on the blogosphere. If that be the case, then extra kudos to our three winners, who must battle inclement weather, a depressing stadium situation and the occasional alligator in the swimming pool to bring us all the Jaguars news that's fit to blog. 3. Southeast Sports. As the title implies, the focus is on not only the Jaguars, but also the University of Florida and Vanderbilt ... oh, and also the Lakeland (Fla.) Dreadnaughts, whom we have learned are USA Today's No. 1-ranked high school football team. 2. Jag-Wired. Designed as we imagine Little Richard's living room might be, a strange concoction of all things Jaguar. Plus news items like this: "A fire has burned the garage and contents of Mike Peterson, Jaguars linebacker." 1. Jagzone Part of the Fan2Fan alliance, a good news site, with some great columns (we like JungleView with Vince Hale).
