Blue Jays reinstate OF Kevin Kiermaier from IL
The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated outfielder Kevin Kiermaier from the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday's game against the Nationals in Washington, D.C.
Kiermaier, 34, has not played for the Blue Jays since April 23 due to inflammation in his left hip flexor.
He is batting .193 with five runs and three RBIs in 22 games this season. The four-time Gold Glove winner is a career .249 hitter with 90 home runs and 128 stolen bases.
Toronto optioned outfielder Nathan Lukes back to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding transaction.
Lukes, 29, was called up on Friday but did not appear in the Blue Jays' 9-3 loss to the Nationals. He is batting .284 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 20 games this season at Buffalo.
