Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr. placed on 7-day IL

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was placed on the seven-day injured list Saturday with a head injury.

Guerrero exited Toronto's 3-1 win over the New York Yankees in the sixth inning on Friday after taking a knee to the head by shortstop George Lombard Jr. while sliding into third base.

"He had a headache last night. I think it's one of those where the doctors wanted to see how he woke up today," Toronto manager John Schneider said on Saturday. "He's here, I think kind of feeling the same. They're just finishing up testing for today and we'll go from there."

Guerrero, 27, is batting .263 with seven homers and 46 RBIs in 115 games this season.

Also on Saturday, the Blue Jays recalled outfielder Daz Cameron and designated right-hander Lazaro Estrada for assignment.

Cameron, 29, is hitting .367 with three homers and 15 RBIs in 23 games with Triple-A Buffalo.

Estrada, 27, posted a 1-1 record with a 5.54 ERA in eight relief appearances with the Blue Jays.
