Braeden Shrewsberry shoots Notre Dame past Evansville 82-58

Mandatory Credit: Michael Caterina-Imagn Images Braeden Shrewsberry set career highs with 26 points and eight made 3-pointers, while Sir Mohammed added a career high 21 points, as Notre Dame rolled to an 82-58 victory over visiting Evansville on Saturday at South Bend, Ind.
Jalen Haralson added 10 points and Kebba Njie had 10 rebounds as the Fighting Irish (9-3) extended their winning streak to four games.
Connor Turnbull scored 17 points with nine rebounds for Evansville (4-7), while Joshua Hughes added 14 points. The Aces were held to 39.6% shooting from the floor, including 35.7% in the second half.
Shrewsberry scored 17 points in the first half while shooting 5 of 6 from 3-point range as the Fighting Irish led 41-29 at halftime. Evansville used a 9-0 run, highlighted by seven consecutive points from Turnbull, to get within 52-49 with 12:22 remaining in the game.
But Shrewsberry, son of Irish coach Micah Shrewsberry, knocked down another 3-pointer with 12:08 remaining for a 55-49 lead. Shrewsberry entered shooting 45.6% from distance this season,
A 9-0 run for Notre Dame, that included a key three-point play from Mohammed, to lead 61-49 lead with 10:17 left.
Shrewsberry finished 8 of 10 from 3-point range and 9 of 12 overall, while Mohammed was 8 of 12 from the field as Notre Dame improved to 7-0 at home and won its second in row minus star Markus Burton (18.5 points per game), who is out indefinitely due to an ankle injury.
The Irish matched a season high with 14 made 3-pointers, on 25 attempts (56.0%).
Evansville managed just nine points over the final 12:22.
Highlighted by Shrewsberry's first made 3-pointer, Notre Dame scored the first eight points of the game. Evansville answered with the next eight, and even led 12-10 following consecutive baskets from AJ Casey.
The Irish surged back ahead via an 11-0 run that was sparked by back-to-back 3-pointers from Shrewsberry. Mohammed closed the run with five consecutive points for Notre Dame, which went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc in the first half.
