Brewers capitalize on Braves' mistakes to win opener

Mandatory Credit: Michael McLoone-USA TODAY Sports Willy Adames hit a three-run home run to help power the Milwaukee Brewers to an 8-3 comeback victory over the visiting Atlanta Braves on Monday in the opener of the three-game series.
Rookie Jackson Chourio had a two-run homer and Rhys Hoskins added a solo shot for Milwaukee. Hoby Milner (4-1) got the win in relief.
Marcell Ozuna, Orlando Arcia and Sean Murphy hit solo homers to account for the Braves' three runs.
After being held to one run through five innings by Grant Holmes, the Brewers broke through in the sixth against Jesse Chavez (1-2). Brice Turang opened with a bloop single to center and William Contreras walked. Turang moved to third as Jake Bauers reached on a fielder's choice. Adames then sent an 0-2 pitch 416 feet to left-center for his 17th homer.
The Brewers made it 5-2 in the seventh when Sal Frelick reached on a bunt single and continued to second on a throwing error by reliever Aaron Bummer. Frelick scored when center fielder Jarred Kelenic broke in on Joey Ortiz's drive that carried over Kelenic's head for a triple.
Chourio's 12th homer in the eighth made it 7-2. The Brewers added another run when Garrett Mitchell singled and continued around to third on a throwing error, then scored on Hoskins' sacrifice fly.
Murphy had a two-out homer, his sixth, in the ninth for Atlanta.
Ozuna opened the fourth inning against Milwaukee starter Colin Rea with his 31st homer, second-most in the NL behind Shohei Ohtani, to put the Braves up 1-0. Mitchell prevented a possible second homer with an inning-ending grab of Eddie Rosario's drive at the top of the center field wall.
Arcia put the Braves up 2-0 in the fifth with his ninth homer, a one-out solo shot to center off Rea.
Hoskins answered in the bottom half with a one-out solo homer, his team-leading 18th, to make it 2-1.
