Brewers place LHP DL Hall (knee) on 15-day injured list
The Milwaukee Brewers placed starting pitcher DL Hall on the 15-day injured list on Sunday because of a left knee sprain.
The left-hander tweaked the knee while fielding a bunt in the second inning of Saturday's 12-5 victory over the host St. Louis Cardinals. Manager Pat Murphy said the initial diagnosis was a mild sprain.
Hall, 25, stayed in the game and pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing four runs, five hits and five walks with three strikeouts. He is 0-1 this season with a 7.71 ERA, 10 walks and 13 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings over four starts.
A first-round draft pick (21st overall) by Baltimore in 2017, Hall was traded by the Orioles along with infielder Joey Ortiz and future considerations to the Brewers for All-Star right-hander Corbin Burnes on Feb. 1.
In a corresponding move Sunday, the Brewers recalled left-hander Jared Koenig from Triple-A Nashville. Koenig, 30, has a 0.00 ERA with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings over two appearances for Milwaukee this season.
