Brewers RHP Brandon Woodruff to undergo season-ending surgery

When speaking to reporters, he made it clear that he is not planning on retiring.
"I'm getting this (surgery) with the intention of rehabbing and taking care of that and being able to pitch again," he stated.
The 33-year-old exited July 4's matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks after a velocity drop and was placed on the 15-day injured list the following day.
For his career, the two-time All-Star has a 3.10 ERA and 1.022 WHIP and 918 strikeouts across 151 games (136 starts).
This season, he posted a 2.98 ERA and 0.838 WHIP in nine starts.
Last offseason, he accepted the one-year, $22 million qualifying offer. He will be a free agent this winter.
