Mandatory Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the host Atlanta Hawks with a left ankle sprain.
It will mark his 31st missed game of the season.
Antetokounmpo returned March 2 from a right calf strain that caused him to miss 15 games, but he has not played in back-to-back games since.
The 31-year-old originally was listed on Milwaukee's injury report as questionable due to injury management on his calf strain before he was ruled out with the ankle sprain, an injury that coach Doc Rivers said Saturday stemmed from Thursday's 112-105 defeat to the host Miami Heat.
Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA MVP, is averaging 27.5 points, 9.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 35 games this season. He already is assured of playing the fewest games of his 13 seasons with the Bucks. His previous low was 61 during the 2020-21 campaign.
A 10-time All-Star, Antetokounmpo has career averages of 24.0 points, 9.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 894 games (829 starts).
