Cam Thomas, Nets storm past Pistons

Dennis Schroder scored 24 points and Noah Clowney added 17 for Brooklyn (31-47), which has won five of its past seven games.
The Nets trailed by 15 with 7:49 remaining in the fourth quarter but rallied to take a 104-103 lead with 2:54 left after a 3-pointer by Schroder. It was Brooklyn's first lead since 3-2.
Schroder then added two free throws and a jumper to give Brooklyn a 108-103 advantage with 1:46 to go.
The Nets all but put the game away with 40.8 seconds left, as Jalen Wilson drained a 3-pointer from the wing as the shot clock was winding down to give Brooklyn a 111-103 lead.
It ended up being a 19-0 run for the Nets over the final 4:51 of the game. Detroit was up 103-94 before being held scoreless.
Chimezie Metu scored 20 points and Marcus Sasser supplied 18 in defeat for Detroit (13-65). Jaden Ivey finished with 16 points and 10 assists.
Brooklyn held a 48-28 advantage on the glass and shot 52.1 percent from the field (38 of 73).
Detroit went 17-for-39 from 3-point range (43.6 percent), helping the Pistons build their 99-84 lead with 7:49 to play.
The Pistons got off to a strong start, taking a 35-23 lead after the first quarter and a 57-46 lead at halftime thanks to hot shooting. Detroit shot 54.5 percent overall (24 of 44) and 42.1 percent (8 of 19) from deep before the break.
Detroit went on a 12-4 run in the third quarter to take a 71-54 lead with 7:33 remaining, but then the Nets started to chip away at the deficit.
Brooklyn used a 14-4 spurt over the next 3:08 to cut Detroit's lead to 75-68 with 4:25 left until the fourth quarter. Clowney accounted for 12 of the Nets' 14 points during the outburst.
The Pistons held an 83-75 lead going into the final frame.
