Canes G Pyotr Kochetkov sidelined at least one week

Kochetkov sat out Thursday's season-opening 6-3 win over the New Jersey Devils and will miss at least three more games, based on that recovery timeline.
Veteran Frederik Andersen was in goal against the Devils and stopped 19 shots. The Hurricanes also have netminder Brandon Bussi on the roster.
Kochetkov, 26, was 27-16-3 last season with two shutouts, a 2.60 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage in a career-high 47 games.
The Russian is 65-36-12 with 10 shutouts, a 2.47 GAA and a .905 save percentage in 116 games since Carolina drafted him in the second round in 2019.
