Hronek, 26, was due to become a restricted free agent at the end of June.
Hronek recorded career-high totals in assists (43), points (48) and rating (plus-33) in 81 games last season. The Canucks acquired Hronek and a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft from the Detroit Red Wings on March 1, 2023, in exchange for a first- and second-round selection in the same draft.
"Filip has fit in seamlessly on our blue line, giving us stability and strength on the right side," Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin said. "His ability to skate, defend and create offense is exactly what you want from a top pairing defenseman. This season he has shown all of us his desire to compete and a willingness to be a leader on this hockey team. We look forward to seeing him continue to help elevate our group and for him to grow both on and off the ice."
Hronek has totaled 205 points (35 goals, 170 assists) in 390 career games with the Red Wings and Canucks. The Czech Republic native was selected by Detroit in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
