Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn was not seriously injured in a single-car crash following Wednesday afternoon's game in St. Louis.

The accident on the highway alongside Busch Stadium came shortly after Winn's walk-off single gave the Cardinals a 2-1 win over the New York Mets in 11 innings.

Winn, 24, was alone in the vehicle when he hit a patch of wet pavement on Interstate 64, according to the team.

"Masyn ... was attended to by local police and Cardinals security and medical staff. He was examined at a nearby hospital and suffered no serious injuries," the Cardinals said in a statement. "We are grateful that he is OK, and thank the first responders in our community who helped Masyn."

The Cardinals are off on Thursday before starting a six-game road trip on Friday in Detroit.

Through six games, Winn is batting .160 (4-for-25) with two doubles, one RBI and one stolen base.

A second-round draft pick in 2020, the 2025 Gold Glove winner is a career .250 hitter with 26 homers and 121 RBIs in 322 games since making his major league debut in 2023.
